State officials announced that 13 new testing sites opened across the state on Wednesday, Dec. 29, including one in Suffolk County and one in Nassau County.

"As we get through this winter surge, we must remember we are not defenseless in our fight against the virus, and we need to use the tools at our disposal," Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. "These new sites expand testing access in regions across the state and will be critical assets in our efforts to protect vulnerable New Yorkers. Remember to stay home if you're sick, wear your mask, and if you haven't yet, get your vaccine or booster shot as soon as possible."

The Suffolk County site is located at IBEW Local 25, at 370 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. The site will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Nassau County site is located at Kennedy Memorial Park at 335 Greenwich Street in Hempstead. The site is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointments can be made here. The sites will close at 4 p.m. on New Year's Eve and stay closed on New Year's Day in observation of the holiday.

State officials said plans are underway to open additional testing sites in the state, and information about new sites will be announced soon.
